BLOOD BANK GUY
Some years back, we built and now maintain, along with Dr. D. Joe Chaffin, a website known as The Blood Bank Guy. Dr. Chaffin's site is a good source of information for healthcare professionals and laymen. The goal is to "to help pathology residents learn more about basic blood banking and transfusion medicine. Over the years, thousands of pathologists, clinicians, nurses, laboratory science students, and regular 'non-scientific' folks have visited in order to further their knowledge of blood banking." The site features various quizzes to test the visitor's knowledge of blood banking, podcasts relating to banking/transfusion medicine and a glossary of Transfusion Medicine Terms.

Recently, we received this note from Dr. Chaffin: "Thanks again, as always, for your kindness in your hosting fees. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that thousands of people around the world have been able to learn blood banking as a result of what you have done for me and my little site. Thanks, Dr. Chaffin. We are a small part of this. Dr. Chaffin has spent thousands of hours, at his own expense, providing information and expertise to maintain the site as a service to healthcare professionals and to an international community of users.

During our monthly staff meeting, company President Roger Austin presented Chief Technical Analyst William (Bill) Hubbard with a Tissot Special Edition chronograph and a certificate of appreciation for ten years of service with Heritage Digital. Bill joined the company in 2002 after serving in the US Air Force and was made Chief Technical Analyst in 2007.
