The Challenge in Our Backyard
Many students at Florence-Darlington Technical College face an impossible choice every day: pay for educational expenses or buy food. As Paula McLaughlin from FDTC puts it simply: "When you can't eat, you can't learn." This reality strikes at the heart of what we believe—that everyone deserves the security to pursue their dreams without worrying about basic needs.
"Feed Hope" Drive Returns

Our "Feed Hope" Drive returns for its second year, building on the incredible success of our 2024 inaugural effort. Last year, over 20 businesses and community organizations from South Carolina and North Carolina came together, culminating in a celebration attended by Senator Mike Reichenbach and then-Mayor Teresa Myers Ervin.
Last Year's Impact Was Immediate and Measurable
Our 2024 efforts enabled FDTC to provide daily care packages throughout their academic week (Monday-Thursday) that were consistently taken by 11 a.m.—demonstrating just how critical this need truly is. We sustained weekend care package distribution from September through December and provided complete Thanksgiving boxes for students and their families in November.
